Activities of the Cognitive, Language, and Learning Discussion Group
The initial work of this group centers around the following activities:
- Exploring and discussing new approaches and ideas for access to Web content and services by people with cognitive, language, and learning disabilities. This will include both generalized strategies, as well as specific features for individuals with specific disabilities such as autism, Alzheimer's disease, etc.
- Creating a resource of information on this area
- working in conjunction with the Access Features MasterList group to determine the features that are necessary to interpret and transform web content in a way that is easy to use for people with a wide range of cognitive disabilities
- Adding annotations for each item explaining their implication and application to each different type of CLL
- Providing Links to documents and research on these topics
- Providing review, advice, and ideas to research and development projects related to CLL disabilities.
- Working with the W3C on a document that complements and goes beyond WCAG 2.0 on ways to create Web content that is more accessible to people with cognitive, language, and learning disabilities.
- Connecting people and fostering work in this area.
